For my project, I really want to conceptualize the idea of trying to escape from a controlled system by higher power and technological systems. We live in an age where things such as power, digital privacy, and identity are major factors in a lot of our lives, and some people are heavily affected by these things. It’s much easier for these larger corporations and digital systems to get access to our personal information which of course poses a risk to our safety and individuality, and this could lead to us feeling as if we’re trapped inside a system we cannot escape.

            The visual theme and modifications for my game aren’t too complex, I really wanted to focus on trapping the player within a neon-esc environment which feels similar to a cybercity and within the actual game itself there are enemy systems which are represented by red hexagon objects and the player is a blank neon character that needs to explore the surrounding area to uncover locks which are the key to escaping the corporate digital system that is keeping the player hostage. For my mouse, I originally wanted to add weighted washers but later found metal clamps which make it feel as if the player is being trapped but I also taped the optical sensor under the mouse halfway to disrupt the players movement and I also added an elastic string to the end of the mouse which is attached to a heavy object also adding on to that feeling of trapping the player.
